To encourage a culture of diversity across the OOH industry by nurturing talent from a diverse range of backgrounds, with differing skills and opinions, who feel empowered to promote the breadth of creativity and innovation OOH has to offer, both now and in the future.

PURPOSE

BALANCE is a collective of media owners and specialist agencies from the Out of Home media sector, working side by side to attract and develop the best talent for Out of Home media. Our commitment is to create a diverse and inclusive sector of the communications industry where everyone has the chance to fulfil their potential.  To deliver this we will focus on 3 things:

Collaboration
Inspiration
We will work as a cross functional body to provide inspiration via an annual events program and website, we will be sharing and supporting meaningful initiatives that will be open to everyone and we will strive to create a diverse and inclusive OOH working landscape that is appealing to all.

CHARTER

As members of Balance, we will;
  • Partner with an education organisation for diverse groups to widen opportunities for people to join our industry
  • Support and promote #timeto within our organisations and adhere to the standards to end sexual harassment in the workplace
  • Internally monitor our key demographics (gender and ethnicity as a minimum) and use this information to inform company strategies on diversity and inclusion
  • Work with trusted recruitment partners who commit to providing diverse candidate shortlists for all roles
  • Commit to only participating on diverse panels in order to increase representation and role models in the industry
  • Increase transparency of D&I statements, by making them available on our company websites

For 2019, the Balance network will be chaired by Clear Channel, and supported by Kinetic, Exterion Media, JCDecaux, Ocean Outdoor, Posterscope, Primesight, Rapport, Talon and 8 Outdoor.
